My Christmas Tree...

I'm just playing around with various settings and getting the feel of capturing the Christmas lights. How'd I do?

(Don't mind the mess of boxes in the background, I haven't got the chance to clean that up yet, since the husband has yet to finish putting up some of the decorations )

I guess I should add, I know that the composition sucks, I'm mainly curious about the lighting. I don't have a tripod, that's top on my list, and was leaning over my coffee table attempting to get the photo right. Needless to say, that's an unpleasant way to position yourself to take a photo. This is SOOC, I have not edited it, yet.
