This image has a terrific serenity about it and I agree the chairs make the image. They provide a splash of color to the somewhat monochromatic scene,
If I could make a suggestion. A slightly different crop would improve the composition. There is a lot of empty water in the foreground and the bridge span runs pretty much right through the center of the frame. Also the bridge stanchion is close to the center. I would suggest cropping out some of the water, and placing the stanchion on a vertical third. This also places the chairs on a vertical third. By removing some of the water you also move that span away from the center of the image a little.
Funny you say that. That was the crop I wanted. I just couldn't live with the bridge supports and reflection being chopped. I'd say your right though. The chairs are the focus point and that crop draws more attention to them.
Hey rebent, I would do something in between your first and last post. I like the negative space on the first but there's a little too much, so cropping tighter is good, just not quite as much as you went. Great image
I agree with the others, the chairs do it for the whole picture. The only thing I would have liked to have seen myself but is completely out of the OP's control, would be for the chairs reflection to be a bit more clear. Great picture!!!
