hey, thanks for posting your original photo. I spent about 15 minutes with it, but that's somewhat close to what I meant:

It could be much improved given time, but I gotta go home.

Nice job. How did you create the glow if you don't mind me asking?

Filters - Render - Lens Flare. Make sure you do this on a duplicate layer though - it creates this effect embedded on whatever layer you put it on.
