Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Got my first proper camera (500d) in july and have been playing with it almost daily since.

I'm mainly interested in insect/wildlife macros and surfing shots but here's my best photos so far.....

Very recently got a Sigma 105mm 2.8 EX DG macro and haven't really had much chance to play with it but here's a couple from the first few:

Shame about the fluff on the ladybird but this was almost SOOC!

I think this is a type of parsitoid wasp. Sightly cropped because these are tiny!

Went to see Lee "scratch" Perry and spent most of the time looking through the viewfinder. Not very sharp but I don't think its too bad for handheld fully zoomed canon 55-250mm f4 at 1/60.

I don't really like shooting people, insects are much better! However I liked the composition of this photo but it was missing something so I used it as an excuse to try to teach myself photoshop.

Some insect macros. Using a full set of cheap extension tubes and either the canon 18-55mm kit lens or the 55-250mm for more working distance:

The ladybug is a nice composition and contrast in colour. The surfer shots have potential, but I don't like when white spray is exposed as grey water. I like the last surfer composition where he is not middle of the frame. Here is a quick edit on the nice rooster tail shot. I didn't correct the horizon, but it looks a tad askew. Your shot of the rolling wave has a greater tilt.

Beautiful shots, really very impressive. That Sigma macro lens looks pretty awesome.

very nice and sharp macros (Y)

Thanks for the comments!

@ joeprice: Im definatey loving the sigma!

@ oldmacman: I only processed these through DPP which as far as I know doesn't have a horizion straightening tool. I probably should use photoshop more but I just tend to use DPP for basic editing as I don't have the adobe RAW program. Or I could just pay more attention when taking photos in the first place!

You have a good eye for macro.

Just updated my DPP. Horizon straightening should not be an issue now!
