My plan was to go to Ft Meade today and that plan got derailed

My plan was to go to Ft Meade today to shop for groceries and was just about to walk out the door when news of this shooting at NSA came on the TV.

The press said that barriers were deployed and the word 'barriers' is a little understatement. At every entrance to Ft Meade there is a choke point some distance inside the document inspection area. There are metal poles about the diameter of light poles set about 2 feet apart that just pop right up out of the roadway.
I can't imagine anything short of a tank getting through them.

I caught part of that on the news. I suspect the Navy Yard was the same way. I didn't hear how things ended.
