Hello all,

I am relatively new to photography & an absolute newbie in birding. Sharing some of my work here. Apologies if my work comes across as amateurish. Hoping to get a lot of feedback to improve my work. Thanks in advance.

Southern Coucal

I am fortunate to have a mini-forest across the road from where I live, which is home to all these birds. An Indian black Ibis also visits occasionally, but has been elusive & I have not been able to capture any images yet.

I am aiming at getting proficient in capturing birds in flight some day. All tips & suggestions are most welcome.

Cheers,
Rajan

Very nice, those are some nice shots, I think there is to much noise in #1 for me, unless that was the look you were going for. Great work.

Oh and also don't apologize for being an amateur, there is only one way to learn and that's by doing it. Everyone here is very helpful so don't be shy and ask away.

wow love all of them.. you will improve as you go but looks very good now.. love all your assortment of creatures and gorgeous different birds... keep up the good work!!

I like your pics and I think you're off to a good start in birding! I've never seen most of those birds and my favorite is the Scaly-Breasted Munia, the markings and colors on those birds is just beautiful! I really like the last lizard, also! Thanks for sharing!

If your starting off, your WELL ahead of the curve on this.

The noise is an issue, but otherwise the framing and setup is very nice.

Keep on this path!

I have to agree with everyone who has commented already-these are really lovely! I particularly like the shots of the lizards. Hope to see more.

Rajan, you've got a really nice assortment of subjects. Well done. :encouragement:

These pics were shot mostly during the golden hours with ISO 100. I guess the noise is introduced with my poor post processing skills. I use Lightroom. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing really "wrong".
What camera?

Greetings Rebellious! I was going to also welcome you until I saw the date you joined. I agree with @Raw photographer - there is no need to apologize on this forum. I have been here for exactly one month now and can attest to the fact that "everybody" here is tremendously helpful and friendly. I also agree with everybody's comments that you are well established in your photography - as @Soocom1 stated: "... WELL ahead of the curve..."

This is the first time I have ever edited someone else's work (sorry for the intrusion) but it seems the only major improvement to be made is the elimination of noise. The image below is yours entirely. The photo on the right is the original and the photo on the left has only had the noise reduced. The software I use for noise reduction is Neat Image by ABSoft. I'm sure others with more experience have their favorite software & procedures and can chime in with advantages and disadvantages.

In conclusion, I hope to & look forward to seeing more of your work. I don't want to take up too much more space here but have to add that I like your subject matter. Like @K9Kirk mentioned, we don't see much of these birds here in the USA. Keep them coming!
