Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Just started processing some new images (on my laptop) and put a few up on the flat screen tv to show and they looked horrible. It may be the tv and I'll have access to a better monitor tomorrow, but wanted a reality/eye/monitor check before I processed any more. Below is post processed vs sooc converted to jpg in LR4 using camera neutral setting. Is the processing too over the top?

Thanks

It may look horrible simply because you're using a laptop to edit. Very few laptops have a good enough monitor to make them worth of using for editing.

That said, I don't think the edits you posted are over the top.

Plus, TV screens have a lot less resolution than most computer displays do.

As mentioned most laptops come with a less than desirable type of TFT-LCD display (TN - Twisted Nematic).
But more laptops are being offered with the more expensive, and desired for image editing IPS displays (In-Plane Switching, also a TFT-LCD display type).
Then, if not used in exactly the same place and with the display at the same angle, the laptop issue becomes the variable light falling on the display which requires re-calibration each time it changes.

Of course, if color accuracy is not a goal it's all moot.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I forgot about the TV. Got carried away with the new big screen and forgot that 1080p is the low end of my computer monitor.

Your SOOC image looks the way a SOOC image often looks; moderate in all ways, nothing too extreme, and thus, as it should be for further adjustment. Your edited image is quite punchy; I would not go any farther on saturation,vibrance,etc...the edited image looks fine, but any "more pop" and it will look clownish I think.
