new camera but no one sells batteries

while packing up for the move my dad found his old minolta maxxum 3000i but no one sells the battery needed to turn it on.

i cant wait to try out this camera but ill have to wait until i find a battery for it. the only lens he has on it is 28-70mm

The 3000i, and MANY,many other cameras from its era needs a 6-volt, 2CR5 lithium battery...which is NOT a hard-to-find battery. Batteries Plus or Radio Shack ought to have this battery in-stock, for sure!

I used to sell those things back when autofocus was "the hot,new thing". At THAT long-ago time, MINOLTA actually had the best autofocus system,IMHO. I've shot a few rolls with the 3000i. Nice camera for its era.

walmart had the battery i needed and now i cant find film, and the wolf camera closed by me so i have to go back to walmart again.

i dont know why but i love the noises it makes with the autofocus and the shutter click
