New Guideline: No trolling for cash

I think we all can agree on this one. Every single thread of this nature gets closed.

Feelings get hurt, OP gets barraged with insults and assumptions. Friends are lost.

So how about making such requests against community guidelines?

Haha! I agree! One wrong comment or thread and I get trolled! I mean, TPF has more trolls than sites like reddit or 9gag

Already made a suggestion for this in the mods section this morning. It's a weekend so it might take a while to get the others in to discuss, but I've a feeling that there won't be any opposition. It's certainly something we've not really had much of in the past, but its getting easier and easier to solicit monies over the net and furthermore the explosion in the last year of things like Kickstarter has presented the idea of crowed sourcing and fund raising as more viable ways to generate income/early investment. So its no surprise that we are seeing more of this activity in new members of the forums.

At a personal level its not something I'd wish to encourage and I hope that the other mods/admin agree.

I've made it clear that I really don't have a problem with the activity, but I don't think it's a good thing to solicit for on a forum that is supposed to be information-oriented.

As we've seen, no good can come out of it.

Has it been that big of a deal. I mean the one kid yesterday and once posted he kinda quickly got told it wasnt going to work and he was doing it the wrong way. and then the post by E.rose which most memebers here new was a joke.

It is an issue on the net as a whole, people see it as an easy way to reach the masses and find a person with a soft spot. Also easy way to reach the masses for a scammer. I think that the community here just wants to nip it in the bud before it becomes an issue.

If TPF decides to nix the pleas for "sponsorship" then I guess we'll just all have to head over to The Sugar Daddy forums.
Except that I really don't want to provide anything in exchange for the free money. I just want no-strings-attached free money.

Side note: Orginally, I typed sugardaddy.com; then I realized I'd better google that and make sure I wasn't inadvertently advertising for some sleazy web site. I wasn't surprised that there ARE sugar daddy websites, but that there are so darn many of them!! Meh, I think I'll just make a video for Kickstarter...at least there I only have to promise to send a photo of a pretty flower or something. Course, I'll probably also only raise about $4.83.

I can't believe people are that lazy now a days. Wow I'm seriously stunned.

Asking for sponsorship's and donations, give me a break.

It's called getting a job and earning your keep. I don't understand why it is soooo hard to create goals, work and save some money to achieve those goals.

Kids these days....

I drive a 91 honda civic EF hatch to work and back everyday too but you don't see me asking for handouts.
