Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I was going to join a pro forum but they all seemed either stuffy, self-serving or boring. This site seems fun from my lurking today so here I am. I have been a shooter since the 70s, doing everything photographically that paid the bills or satisfied my creative pursuits. Most recently for the last 5 years I did the art show circuit, mostly in the Hamptons, other areas on New York's Long Island or Westchester county, and areas of Coastal NJ. Now i am mostly retired and only host excursions and chill out all winter in the Keys. Not sure what I'm allowed to post but this link gives an idea of my background and I DO NOT profit from this book as it is a fundraiser.

Now, let me try posting a pic and the story of it's creation.

Olives And Poppies Tuscany, Italy
2011

Olives And Poppies was produced in May of 2011 in Tuscany. This image evokes the time of my beloved impressionist painters. The silvery green of the olive leaves and the deep orange-red poppies attracted me to this spot, which I believe is the only poppy field adjacent to an olive grove in all of Tuscany. Contemplate the four shades of green and the compressed perspective in the finished piece. However, what transports this image to the realm of exquisite is the wispy, windblown pearl-tinged grass traveling horizontally through the center of the image. Limited edition of 50.

Well, the link worked but the pic from photo bucket did not so let me try again.

Is that too large?

Welcome. Glad to have you with us!

Hello and welcome to the forum...

Welcome to this forum. Hope you enjoy it while you're here. You are more of an artist than a photographer...and the photo you uploaded says a lot about you.
Thank you for the kind words. My first apprenticeship had my training at the Philadelphia Museum Of Art. So i believe photography is indeed an art and if asked I refer to myself as an artist. A good shooter knows his craft, fundamentals, exposure and depth of field inside out. After that, composition and lighting is everything. My influences were painters and poets. Do you think my time here is short-lived. Perhaps. But I'm here to learn and I'll critique if asked but if you bruise easily you won't ask again. If a person longs to be an excellent photographic artist, study compositions over the centuries.

Welcome Eddie! Wow, LOVE LOVE LOVE Olives and Poppies! You are talkin' my language there! I'm only a short time into my journey in photography and truly enjoy exploring impressionistic, minimalistic and abstract concepts with the camera, Olives and Poppies is quite inspirational! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you, little bunny. I was up your way on the Queens b-bay weekend for the Ottawa tulip festival. Nice town.

Awesome! Great shots, I've never made it up there for the festival, I should make a point of it ;)

As for the image things, are you just grabbing the link from photobucket? It should display properly if you just copy the link from the drop down there and just paste it in the thread.

Welcome keyseddie & nice to know about your professional background.
