The wife and me are in NC visiting family. Today we took Nick (grandson) to Wal-Mart to get some soccer shoes. I'm looking in the camera section when I run across a Nikon 55-200mm DX AF-S f/4.5-5.6 G ED for $250. It was in a plastic display box laying with the lens rattling around in it. I ask the clerk if they had one in a box and they did. Frances (wife) bought it for me. I shot this at 200mm f5.6 wide open. I'm Happy #1 straight out of the camera. When I bought my first DSLR, the D40X, I purchased the 18-55mm kit lens and the 55-200 DX AF-S VR. Then a bit later I bought the 18-200mm lens. When I sold my D40X to my nephew I let the 18-55 and 55-200 go with the camera. Recently my 18-200mm lens was stolen along with some other equipment. Since I have the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens now I decided to replace the 18-200 with another 55-200. I ordered a used one in EX+ condition from Keh for $133. The package came yesterday but Keh had accidentally sent the 24-105mm instead. I immediately called them and returned the lens yesterday. Since the optical quality of the 55-200 is rated as high or a bit higher than the 18-200 I couldn't see spending several hundred dollars more to replace the 18-200. The 24-105 lens I received looked new and the lady I talked to yesterday at Keh said the 55-200 will be rated even higher than EX+. Jerry
