New member intro, and an ISO question

Hey all,

When I was about 16, I took a couple photo classes at the community college (intro to B/W and intro to color). Not to brag or anything, but I was pretty good. Even won an award for a pic of my ping-pong table :mrgreen:.

Well as school got busier, I had to cut back, and ended up dropping the hobby completely .

Well now I'm graduated and have a lot more time, so I've been getting back into it. Only problem is... I SUCK! I can't seem to remember any of the little techniques I learned in the classes. The only thing that seems to be somewhat alright is the compsition. Everything else (Lighting especially) just blows.

Just to start on my road to recovery, here's a quick question (Finally, I know)...

What is the best ISO speeds for outdoor portraits right at sunset?

I'd say that the best ISO is....the lowest that you can get away with.

Welcome! I shoot at ISO 100 all the time unless I really can't get away with it. I used to shoot a lot at sunset and I never had a problem at ISO 100.
