Deh chicka chicka Deh Deh Deh chicka... Sorry rocky popped in my head on number 4

That's what I was going for...I finally got up early enough to go out and catch the sunrise...I felt triumphant...not unlike Rocky....

I need to get up early one of these days. I should rephrase my kid requires me to get up early I need the motivation to get him dressed and get down to the beach. As I live on the east coast the sun rises on the ocean. I can't get good sunset shots. I have to use the bay for sunset another thing I need the motivation to get my kid in the car and go.

That's what's nice about living near a lake, I can just go to the other side of the lake for a good sunset photo. You'd have a considerably longer distance to travel to do the same thing. But I bet you can get more interesting sunrise shots than I would be able.

#2 is awesome man, looks like you're getting that MF down! You macros have been great too. One tip though, maybe attempt to clone out the white, whatever it is, out of the center of the frame. My eyes were immediately drawn to it.

#3 what's up with the horrible noise throughout that image? Ruins the shot imo.

#4 is fun, no need on CC'ing this ... nothing technically great about it, but it shows your triumphant success :P

Thanks for the reply Geaux...

#3 - This photo was in response to a photo a local photographer took of a sculpture in our town. His had these awful halos (IMHO, but art is in the eye of the beholder as some say) in it and when I made a critique, he said "It's cliche to give halos a negative rap. I like the photo exactly the way it is. It's processed looking on purpose." Well, I happen to like noisy photos but noise doesn't always seem to lend itself well to the photos I take. Here is a link to his photo at facebook if he has it public (waiting to get in trouble for this, but its not mine and I'm not saying it is): http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/39163_546209630730_136903037_32089429_7731149_n.jpg

Oh yeah, his halos do ruin an otherwise nice image. I'm liking his colors, but yeah, halo gotta go (that rhymed...)

Its "art" when its "processed on purpose". I guess I don't know art. I really don't though. Is that what art is; something that normally would look bad but when done with intention, all's good in the neighborhood (that rhymed...)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bad-mouth him, he has a lot of good photos as well. Just trying to figure out when something is art as opposed to not art.
