"New-to-me" lens, first outing... Eagles!

Bought a used Nikon 500PF lens recently, took it on a hike today to an eagles nest ....not much going on, just sitting on eggs and the other just perched.

But boy, do I love this new lens ..the reach, the sharpness ...more proof of the old adage; If you going to spend money, SPEND IT ON GOOD GLASS!!....(or something like that... )

Great shots! It's amazing what a difference a lens makes! So many people put attention on bodies when it's the glass that makes a difference!

I was looking at that lens before I switched to mirrorless. I was using a D850, but switched to Canon mirrorless for the better subject tracking (at least at the time). Ended up locking myself in the ecosystem by investing in a decent Canon lens. Bodies come and go, but good glass sticks around! Congrats on the new lens, looks awesome!

Amazing clarity! I visited an eagle's nest less than a mile from my home just yesterday. One bird hunkered down, indicative of eggs! Nest can be seen clearly from an overlook on the highway, but, it's a quarter mile away.
