New to the forums: car, food & people photography

Hey everyone. I joined yesterday. I don't do photography for a living, but I do make a little money off of it every now and then and get some work published. I'm a student, chef, and car enthusiast (the Evo is mine). I have a ton of pictures in each category, so I just chose a few. Enjoy!

Hey, welcome to the board!

I really like #5 and #7. Very nice work. I they're the best composed, and most "put together", for lack of better photography vocabulary.

Btw, I know you're new here, so don't take this the wrong way, but it helps if you number your pics so we can critique them.

Oh ok I'll edit the numbers in.

I just did notice that the majority of the pics are centered and the ones you chose follow the rule of thirds lol. But thanks. Pic 7 has been published in a calendar.

Hey, you're right! I didn't even notice that...that explains why I think my photos are crap. :blushing: I'm going to work on that. Thanks! :thumbup:

Anyway, congrats on having #7 published in a calendar. It's sensational, I'm really diggin' it, and I'm not normally a car person (no offense.)

Subaru just go it's ass handed to them by a V6 Mustang in Edmund's 2011 review. Still, a lot of my friends drive Subies and a few of them have ones you've probably seen in magazines/car forums.

Canon 50D
Canon 70-200mm IS f2.8 L
Canon 16-35mm f2.8 L

I had the Canon fisheye. I sold it last year. I also had an 85mm f1.8, but I broke that. I'm looking to get the 100mm macro for food and the 24-70 L for a better suited walk around lens.

Evo's look funny in left hand drive lol. Nice food pics dude though I would love to have seen No.3 at a lower/closer angle to give the food more height. Welcome to the forum too
