New to the hobby, comments welcome

Hi there,

Just stumbled into this forum and was glad to see many others with similar experiences. Either way my DSLR experience is limited to what I have learned through articles and a short 3 hour workshop I took at the local college a few months back. As with other hobby's I tried not to take the plunge too hard but broke down and grabbed a macro lens for the sheer fun it might bring. Either way a few shots I've taken..

#3 seems to be a very popular subject...I've done at least 400 of them myself...not that any of them came out...but still...very pretty...very photogenic flowers...

yeah the exposure on a few of those is a bit out too much or too little I will admit, I will give those guides a look. I shot those in manual mode, and am still getting used to compensating for inaccuracies of the light meter... It is not always right lol.. and apparent so am I.. As for the lily in #3, yeah.. there are a lot of them around here.. somehow I think the city just decided the would use these in all the parks and public flower beds.. aw well.. they were fun to take photos of.
