Ok, so a thousand dollar, give or take, professinal lens is not exactly a toy, but it sure is fun!
It's the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM telephoto lens. I have had it for roughly 3 hours, but due to inclimite weather I have only had about a 5-10 minute window to grab some shots. I will do some sharpness comparrisons with teh IS feature soon, but today I just flipped it on and had some fun. I tell you, if you have never tried IS it is quite amazing to see the frame in the VF go from shaky to steady. I didn't know it would have such an effect in the VF itself, but it does. I had AS in the Pentax K10D, but I do not recall the effect being so dramatic.
Below you will see some pics of my camera and lenses, then some FF and 100% crops.
The family...
Fully retracted at 100mm
Fully extended at 400mm
