I am totally new here and am no expert. I just wanted to say that it's nice to see a nice pic taken with a D40. I'm sure I will find more with time.
I would say, and this is from a complete amateur, that I just wish the shoreline was completely level. I feel like the handsome model is about to slide off the frame any minute.

my shots are all done with d40 for now..

If that was my shot, i'd do a few little tweaks.
straighten out the horizon.
make it a little more contrast-y...
perhaps, sharpen it a little.

thanks for the quick comments and as i said i am new with this as well as photo-shop lol and i am not real sure how to tweak/straighten my pics yet :-( there is so much to learn , all the comments and suggestions are muchly appreciated

i think a wide angle shot of this with the baby placed on the far right or left might be pretty sweet. otherwise nice work!
