Nifty On its way

Finally ordered myself a new lens, the Nikon 50mm 1.8G AF-S. Been ridiculously busy the last couple months and finally have had time to sit down and catch back up on TPF, and more importantly, get the camera back out. I love that B&H orders only take a day to get to my house. The UPS guy isn't going to get here soon enough though. I know he is going to be here at like 2:30, just in time for me to get ready for work.

Any tips are welcomed to help me learn this new lens and get the best results from it. I only wish I ordered it while the fall colors were still around.

Wish I knew the UPS drivers route. I would be chasing him down right now so I could use the lens all day today.

Finally, its here!! and earlier then expected. Of course right as I was making something to eat. UPS guy decided to mess with me and act like he was gonna toss it to me from bout 10 yards away. So I get it on my camera, and first thing I notice is the better build quality. The lens just seems solid. Next thing is get a picture, so I turn it to my 2 yr old, and she tells me to get it out of her face. Tried zooming, O yeah its a prime. Habit I will have to learn to break.

Well off to snap some shots.

Got around to taking some shots with the new lens today. All have minor tweaks in PS Elements. I definitly have to get used to the foot zoom.

1. My Dads old gear thats been sitting around. I used to be amazed by this camera when I was a kid. Guess its the reason I bought a Nikon.

2.My one outside shot I got yesterday before I went to work.

3. Stitch just happened to be around when I was taking shots of my dads camera. I worked hard to get the catch lights in his eyes just right.

I bought that 1.8G about a month ago and I have to say, it is by far my favourite; once I got used to moving my body and not the zoom ring.

When I first got my 50mm, I kept on trying to zoom because I was originally using a 18-200 before .__. Anyways, good luck with it and try to break that zooming habit asap xD It's still quite fun walking forward and backward to get the shot though
