nikon d3100 help

i can take pictures but the pictures come out with nothing but blackness except the very top of the picture.....help?
it also says something is wrong with my shutter

What exactly does it say about the shutter?

If your pictures are black except for a line of exposure, it could be a problem with the shutter (curtains) mechanism. If the camera is giving you an error, I'd take it to a camera shop that's a Nikon authorized dealer and see if it's covered under warranty.

Where you using your flash above your sinc speed ?

could be many reasons why, take it back to the store and find out if you can exchange it before you send it in for repairs.

What is "it"?

Is "it" an error code? If so. What is the specific error code?

To be honest, I think your camera is malfunctioning and is in need of repair.
