I was offered to buy a Nikon D80 and the accompanying 18-55 VR lens today for $330. What do you all think? Should I go for it? I could use a new camera, and even if I don't use it, how is the resale value?

Thanks,
Mark

I'd say at that price, you're right about at it's resale value. So, yeah, it's a good price, but not really a bargain.

LOL. I just realized when I was looking at prices, I was looking at the D50. So I amend my original post by saying, yeah, it is a pretty nice deal.

yeah it's a good price. I just bought one on ebay, the body only is going for $350-$380 on ebay.

The camera body alone sells for $415 at KEH under BGN condition. The lens for roughly another $100 more. Do you think I could possibly get $450 for the pair if I had to resell?

If you resold, you would be better off seperating the camera and lens. You'd likely get $350-400 for the body depending on condition and shutter count, and $75-85 for the lens.

$300 is a good price for the d80 body and 75 is a good price for that lens--you do the math.
