Hey all,
I had to get a new computer about a year ago when the old one gave up the ghost. On the old one I was running Windows XP. I had Nikon Scan software and a Super Coolscan LS-8000 Ed hooked up to it and it worked perfectly.
The new computer, however has Windows 7 and Nikon Scan is not supported. Frustrating, but I do have Viewscan loaded. I lose a lot of capability but at least I have scanner software.
The problem I am running into is that the fact that the LS-8000 uses a Firewire card. The Firewire card I had for the old computer would not work on the new one. I got another, more up to date one, but still cannot get the new Dell to recognize it.
Has anyone experienced the same problems and resolved them? If so, please tell me what Firewire card you used and any HW/SW manipulations you had to do to get it to work.
The one thing I love most about my LS-8000 is it will scan my Hasselblad negatives but right now all I have is a $3000 paperweight!
