Nikon upgrade

Lookin into a upgrade from Nikon d40. Can't spend thousands
On one. Any suggestions? I do mostly outdoor photography!

D60, D80, D300, D90, D7000 can all be found used but clean for less than a thousand.

Used D90 if U want a used 1.5x, D700 used for 15 to 17 hunnerd for a used FF.
