Took a short road trip up north to upper peninsula Michigan. I mainly explored Marquette, and more importantly, Munising where Pictured Rock National Lakeshore is. Then I ventured back down south to the same route that I toured 2 years back. Basically, drove along the western coast from Mackinaw to Traverse city, then to North Port, Leeland and back down to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. 4 days and 3 nights. It was quite an intensive schedule, but I got tired on the 4th day, so it was all good.
Gallery here( lots of videos as well ): here!
Starting with my route:
Munising Falls
Mosquite Falls
Pictured Rocks lake shore (Sand stone formation)
Miners Falls
Marquette
Here's the iron ore loading facility in Marquette. Looks really eerie especially with the cloudy weather.
Now back down south:
I didn't take as many photos this time because I already too many shots 2 years ago, and since the landscape didn't change much, I tried to save my films.
You can visit here! for those that I snapped then.
Leeland
( Fishing net )
Harbor Springs
St Ignace
Random shots on the road
Just a bit of story. I was at Traverse City this past Friday not knowing about the Cherry Festival that attracts 400 000 tourists to the area. So there were very few hotel rooms available, let alone finding one with a reasonable price. My friend and I ended up driving 30min into the forest and found ourselves a little motel, for a less-than-desirable rate. So folks, before you set off on your trip, do your homework!
