NOT you typical Xmas Goose

I was driving home this afternoon after watching the Carolina Tarheels embarrass the UCSB Gauchos in college basketball, exchanging Xmas pressies and enjoying the holiday cheer, when I came upon the creatures. Pretty sure they're Emu's. Strange site on the Carolina backroads.

There were a couple of Ostrich farms back years ago but they folded. First one for me with these. They stood about 4 feet high without stretching.

What, nobody else thinks these birds are hilarious? They are ugly in a beautiful sort of way, but I thought the shots were okay.

Interesting... I've never actually seen an Emu before. I agree that those eyes are nuts! Interesting tho... the last pic is my favorite. The white mark makes it look 'classy' for such an odd animal!
