November 2025 FOCUSED Photo of the Month Nominations

Starting this month, we are going to add a Focused Photo of the Month contest. The rules are the same for the "usual" POTM, but the subjects must match the announced theme or topic. The topics will come from our gallery headings, and the order will be random.

This contest will initially be run for a limited time, and in the same forum as the "standard" Photo of the Month. If response is good, we will continue with both contests and a new forum will be created for the Focused POTM.

This competition runs each month; during the month members are able to nominate photos (in this thread) for TPF Focused Photo of the Month. At the end of each month a poll is made and members then vote from the selection to choose the TPF Focused Photo of the Month.

Winners of Focused Photo of the Month will get (thanks to the site admins for providing prizes!):
Free TPF membership for three months.
Automatic entry into Photo of the Year competition.

This month's focused topic is: Landscapes or Cityscapes

RULES:

* The subject of all nominations must match the announced theme or topic. Photos outside the announced theme or topic will be declined.

* You may nominate up to four (4) photos from others, and one (1) of your own.

* Any nominations beyond the five as listed above, by the same person, will be trimmed to the latest nominations. So, if you nominate six from other members the first two nominated will not be included in the voting. Likewise, if you nominate more than one of your own, only the last one nominated will be placed into voting.

* As this thread is in the General area and can be seen by everyone, no NSFW photos will be allowed.

* Please include the name of the photo and the name of the photographer, in addition post a direct link to the thread or gallery where the photo was originally posted.

* You may nominate any photo posted on TPF during the month of the contest as part of a thread or in the galleries. Photo must have been posted in the month of the current (this) contest, determined by the GMT (UTC 0) Time Zone.

* Photo can have been created any time, but must have been posted to TPF for the first time during the month of the contest.

* Photo must have been taken by the nominated poster and all rights must belong to original photographer.

* If someone else has already nominated a photo, please do not nominate it again. It makes it very confusing when it's time to make the voting thread. If a photo is nominated twice, your post may be edited or deleted.

* The same person can only receive the POTM and/or Focused POTM prize for winning once in a 12-month period. This person can still win either POTM, but they will only receive the prize once.

* Once you've nominated a photo, please do leave a link to this nomination thread and a mention that the photo has been nominated in the original thread that the photo came from. Those whose photos are nominated may like to know that they are in the competition.

* A member is only allowed to have five (5) of their photos nominated in each month's contest. If more photos are nominated the member will be allowed to decide which photos they would like in the voting. If the member does not make the selection in a timely manner, the selection will be made by the moderators.

* I like bacon, sausage, and

How to nominate:

1. Right click image
2. Select "Copy Image URL".
3. In new reply window select image icon from menu bar
4. Paste image URL into dialog box
5. Add Photographer's Name and Photo Title.
6. Add link to the thread where it was originally posted.

So don't hold back, nominate your choices for the month

Also, whilst we are all for chatter in this thread; if you want to leave compliments please follow the link to the original thread and share your compliments there (where the original photographer of the photo can see them).
