As you can see by my silo photo, this is the kind of "snapshot" photography I like. In this shot, I think I would have liked a tighter crop so more details can be seen. I may be the only one here that does, but I enjoyed it.

Not bad, but I agree with Rick--I'd like to see more detail, especially since it's a black and white shot. I probably would have strolled up a few feet to get in front of that little fence segment and taken the shot from there.

My initial thoughts are that the sky is too boring to hold that much of the frame and that where you might have been able to use the fence as a leading line (you'd have needed to move far left of right), you didn't. You also kinda dead centered the farm itself so the shot winds up being very stale. Zooming in more might have helped from an inventory shot perspective, but by and large I would bin this one and try again.

Thanks for the input guys. And rabbit. I like it better without all that sky but I would still like to include the H-brace.

I took this on my trip to Montana last year. I probably never would have made it there and back again if I stopped every place I wanted to, and, at 70 miles an hour, for something I just wanted to keep a memory of, I'm happy with it.

Forgetting something, not knowing where it was or could be found again creates emptiness that I enjoy in this photo.

Would have been more dramatic shot much lower and along the fence line, leading up to the old farm buildings. The sky has no life, go back when there are clouds and reshoot it.

That's cool and I can totally respect that. Sometimes pictures are just for ourselves, and what others say or feel about them isn't nearly as important as how WE feel about them. That doesn't necessarily make them better "photographs", but sometimes that's just not what's important. :thumbup:
