Olympus TG-6 charging problem

I charge the batteries by attaching the cable to camera and normally it asks me if I want to charge and it does.

Now a) it doesn't give those options
b) the camera is on and useable while connected but on disconnecting it dies - because the battery wasn't charging.

I have tried a) 2 usb-b cables
b) two adaptor
c) various sockets

Any ideas?

Fixed it the battery was in the wrong way, it must be the heat.
