one quick question?

I enjoy bird photography but not very successful, when you guys go out to shoot birds, what's your method? i've never set food out and waited with a tripod, is it wise too?
Thanks for any help, I have a conservation area close with Robins, Woodpeckers etc.... but dont know how to get the best out of it.

I do not bait birds.
I have waited ... sometimes for a long time.

Knowing bird behaviour is very important. You will have a better idea on what birds will be in what area, when, and their flight patterns.
