What's new

Our wedding bands, C&C please

I think you did a good job also. Everything mleek said I agree with. I do agree with jowensphoto also on the fact that the words in the ring really are neat and I also would not have guessed you were going with trying to capture the word marriage in this photo. Def re shoot and try to position the rings so marriage is in the reflection now that would be sh!t lol!!

Will do :) Also, In your honest opinion, should I just show one page and leave out the crease in the book? Mleek pointed out that the other page was bothering her on comp, but I liked that it looked like a book and not just a page.

Honestly Id say experiment with it :) I've seen folks do shots like these with the rings in the crease also. It does kind of bug me too but I still like it. But I'm learning too so take what I have for a grain of salt hahahaha!

Yeah, can't wait to experiment. Since they are our wedding bands, I wanted to add this to our wedding album.

I wouldn't have been drawn to the word "marriage" had you not mentioned it. The words reflected in the rings, however, really caught my attention. Maybe play around with positioning and see if you can get marriage in the reflection.

This is a great suggestion but I like the photo as is also.
I like your clean kitchen too ...it made me want to come over for dinner.

Don't worry about the math! You only need to understand the concept/theory, not necessarily the numbers behind it. Ruld of Thirds that we're all familiar with is part of the Golden Ratio.

I found this stock photo online. I am thinking the comp is better on this one. The only thing is that if I put the rings in the crease, I will lose the mirror effect.

Come on over for some KY hospitality! We love having people over for dinner and my hubby is the steak on the grill master...:)

Thank you for the invite! ...but I'm the grilled steak master. Is this a challenge or something? ;)

Steak cook-off? heehee

Ahhhh, a good challenge!

Either way, this is a win-win. You change the comp and get a better photo, or you don't take another photo like this and are "stuck" with a decent, pretty visually pleasing image.

I am going to take more photo's of this...perhaps I should ask hubby to leave his ring here for a few days while he goes to work

What didn't you like about the C&C that you recieved in this thread? You linked this to me, to give me an example of why you don't want to post your best work.
