Out in the wood again

Some more attempts at capturing the light situations in the wood:

Lovely shots - I especially like the third one, and the second reminds me of the sort of pools of light you get with stained-glass windows in old chapels.

If they were my shots I think I'd try cropping the bright foreground from the first image - for me it distracts from the softness and subtle greens and blues of the forest.

Still, beautiful pics... I love woodland!

Toruonu, I know that you had taken a very similar photo. That is when I said that apparently you and I like to photograph the same things. I have tried to capture the light-shadow situation in woods for a while now, usually with only quite unpleasing success. These are the first that I am beginning to like.

And Yummifruit, I think in the first I was going for the sunspot on the fern in the foreground as opposed to the dark green of the wood... now I am torn between being happy that it all came out this well without the green being too bright, and hearing that you find it distracting. Hm... must look at the first yet again for a while.

Oops - I didn't want to be too critical - it's a nice pic! It's just that I love the silhouetted trees and the softness of the light in the background, and I feel like it deserves a picture of its own!
