Cauzimme, you got a good lesson on why so many people devalue the skills of a good photographer. Your friend didn't give you specifics about what she was looking for. You had no experience shooting hair. The combination meant some lovely photos of models but not what she was looking for (she didn't give you an idea of what it was).

You are a fast learner. You may not go in to the hair style photography business. But this is a good learning experience for you. I think you actually did well for your first time shooting this. And as soon as Derrel made his point about pale skin and dark hair and hit my head and went "duh!". That's so true.

You've improved dramatically as a photographer in a short period of time. You've created a niche business that is very successful. So it's a bit of an ego bust to have an unhappy client. Unhappy clients happy. Learn from this and continue to grow...the lessons from this experience will happen you with your speciality, even if you never do another hair stylist shoot again.

She went trought the photos and selected 60 photos, so I think even if it wasn't that good, it's not catastrophic either. But still, it's a good lesson.

I'll work on some she selected and i'll upload them

Meh, it's the first time I am dealing with a negative outcome, hurts my ego pretty badly, at least the models like the photo

I haven't had a fully positive outcome yet, so you get used to it!

Wooot Wooot Wooot!

One of the model show my contact sheet to her agency asking her if she could put some of my photos in her portfolio, they liked what they saw, they now need the edited version high res and if they like it, they will refer me as a photographer!!! I'm speechless, now I have a white night ahead! So I failed for the hair but somehow suceed, well it's not over, but it's such a great new.

Wayne Gretzky once said: "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." He was referring to hockey but it applies to life and certainly photography. You are out there, taking risks, trying to start a new career, pushing yourself, bravely exposing yourself to C&C not to get approval but to learn and get better, and you are learning from it. Congratulations. This is good news. Now....if you're really going to be doing shoots for agency models, for fashion work and commercial clients, you've got a lot more learning to do. But you're clearly up for it.
