PC Sync Help

I have been having a little bit of trouble with my pc sync recently. The adapter I put on top of my camera (one much like this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/135782-REG/General_Brand_SF943_Hot_Shoe_to_PC.html
) and the problem I have is that the adapter doesnt stay tight in my cameras hot shoe, it keeps moving and I have to jiggle it around forever until I find "The spot" and then with a little tap it stops working again.

I was wondering if a more expensive one like this nikon would work on my canon rebel xt
