I really like the second shot! Nice shootin'. You mentioned C&C...what I like about #2 is the almost perfect focus placement on the subject matter, and the unity...blue pencil, shaving from that one color. #1 has multi-colored pencils, but the shaving, singular, does not agree with the multi-colored pencils. #3 is "okay" yes,m but the slightly hot area on the shaving and the just-0slightly-OOF nature of the shaving is not as pleasing to me as the perfect exposure on #2. In the third shot, the focus is more on the pencil's tip, but the strong SHAPE of the shaving dominates, so that seems slightly less-pleasing to me than the way #2 has the shaving as the best focused and most powerful element.
