Pentax K-7: Is it worth it?

I was looking at a Nikon D90 vs a Pentax K-7. I am mainly interested in shooting travel pictures under harsh weather conditions but will also shoot a huge lot of portraits of people and animals. Please advise?

Well the D90 has a better upgrade path and ultimately more accessories to choose from and is cheaper.

That said the K7 is weather sealed, has a mag alloy body and will probably take a significant more amount of abuse.

For portraits either or. Unless you have a big budget where the 80mm f/1.4 lenses available for the Nikon will give it an advantage over the Pentax.
