Photo Editing Help - Don't Know Where Else To Turn

I have this great idea for a shirt. I even made artwork for it, all OC, tried to upload it online, and I can't make the background transparent! Also, It's extremely small. Anyone who would be willing to help me, I will send you the original image, and I would be so darn grateful.

Not all image formats can support transparency. Try saving as a GIF.

To retain transparency, you must save your image as a PNG. To save as a PNG your image must be in RGB colourspace.

Are you using Photoshop?
