Photo size requirement on TPF?

I was trying to post some images on here for critique, but the image is too large. What are the size requirements on TPF? I am going to use Elements 7 which I am totally new at.

Typically between 720 and 1000 pixels on the longest side is more than big enough for web display. Remember to sharpen before and after resizing (resizing itself removes data so softens photos a touch thus two stage sharpening to avoid that happening).

No the forum does not limit images by pixel dimensions it limits by file size.

I'm not sure off the top of my head what the file size limit is but a jpg with the dimensions listed would easily be small enough, you could probably even go bigger.

Are we talking about attachments, or just linking to photos?

Linking, I don't think there is a limit - the forum will automatically resize it to whatever dimensions you have set in your settings though. Attaching, there may be - not really sure, I don't usually make attachments.

Attachments. I tried uploading with the original size, but it was too large. I resized and uploaded a little while ago.

Yes decreasing the pixel dimensions typically will reduce the file size but there is a lot more to file size then pixel dimensions.

Image file size is limited to a maxiimum of 2 Mb.
File size is not the same as image size (pixel resolution).

At the top of most forum pages, under Forum Actions > General Settings > Thread Display Options > The Image Resizer

Image width.
Images wider than this width will be resized. Enter 0 in the field below to allow all widths, or leave the field empty to use the default value of 800:

Image Height.
Images taller than this height will be resized. Enter 0 to allow all heights, or leave the field empty to use the default value of 600:

I have mine set to 1000 px width, 700 px height.

Thanks for the link and clarification. Did not realize file size and image size were 2 different things.
