Picture #1 has a lot of possibilities. I would have composed it with the bridge as 2/3 of the entire picture. I would have also tried a lower angle. Try cropping it so that the tree/sky line is the top of your composition. I would also edit the actual walkway as that's some hot spot with blownout highlights.

Pic #2 isn't a strong composition. The railing is out of focus in the foreground as well as in the background. There is actually very little of the railing in focus.
