The grass stuff - composition is uninspired and it is well OOF. This kind of shot requires absolute crispness and it's just not there.
Second shot is a sweet, personal rememberbrance, kind of shot but the technical values aren't great, it looks like on-camera flash hurt the micro-shadows a bit. THe hand in the foreground looks well oof and draws my eye.

As pointed out by Lew, some strong thing of interest is missing in the image #1
The second image has some good emotional vibrations to send around; but as again pointed out by Lew, lighting is a bit harsh and vignetting too; you can also see undesirable light circles also in the background
