Phottix? etc

Hi guys,

thought of getting a batt grip for my d300 .. so I was looking for some third party brands like Photix etc, any of you tried it, love it and keep them? I mean I know they would work just fine, but any discrepancies found comparing them to Nikon's? any feature or dial it lacks?

I'm sure it would work just fine. I have the Nikon one and it is built like a tank just like the camera, I would assume third party brands are plastic. The buttons on it are just the front and back dials, AF-ON and a directional pad. I'm not sure how the battery situation is on the no name brand, but the one thing that I think sucks on the Nikon is you have to take the grip off the camera to get the battery out of the camera instead of having both batteries in the grip.
