Here are a some of my favorites from my short stay in Pictou, Nova Scotia. Most of these pictures center around the Ship Hector. Hector was a ship famous for having been part of the first significant migration of Scottish settlers to Nova Scotia in 1773.
This is one of three replicas of historic ships that I visited on my road trip. The Matthew in Bonavista, Newfoundland was the next one that I visited...John Cabot sailed that ship to North America in 1497. Then, there's The Snorri replica in L'Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland--the ship that Leif Erikson sailed to North America.
These replicas are seaworthy vessels. For example, The Matthew sailed from England to Bonvista.
