playing around with eyes in lightroom

Was going through my library last night and decided to play around with sharpening / lighting up eyes in some portraits. My sister's cat has some amazing eyes, and luckily I had a pretty crisp picture of her eyes to begin with.

Does it look too over-processed though? I'm unsure if the eye pop is too much, or just enough to get you to keep looking.

Close. It's ever so unnatural. But I feel like if you bumped up the exposure maybe a half of a stop or so, it'd look completely natural. They just seem.. brighter... than the rest of the image. It's subtle, though.

I bumped up the exposure on the eyes maybe .3 or .4 of a stop, so what you said makes sense. I wonder if the effect would be noticeable in a person if their eyes aren't as vividly colored.
