It's very hot. But, there IS texture there, albeit just barely. That's partly why I like it, it's high key and still looks chilly.

I froze the fruit first to keep it looking really fresh. Then I poured sprite in a big square vase and put the vase on my kitchen table. I am just sitting on my kitchen table shooting over it.

Let me see if I have anything else with a little more substance from this shoot. I am working with my 100mm macro, which I could definitely use as must help as I can get.

Kathy, I'd consider putting a light under so there some trans-lighting going on (but not too much), and at the same time, reduce the perimeter light, as it IS quite hot. In terms of framing, I'd either put it precisely at center to emphasize the symmetry, or at one of the power corners. Good idea - it's worth exploring it some more. I did something like this quite a long time ago (when slides were the medium), and THAT series is buried somewhere in one of my storage cabinets. But you might just inspire me to repeat the set.

So I went back in LR and tweaked it a bit to bring back in the texture. Better?

I would like someone else with some actual experience with this, unlike myself, to give it a go. Playing with fruit and sprite is pretty fun. I actually have some concepts now that I think I can execute the next go round. This next image is one that I liked the concept, but obviously not the way it played out. I think I have an idea though that I am going to try this weekend. The image I am posting here is bad I know. I just wanted to show you what I was "attempting" to do.
