My biggest issue with this is how I missed her hair and it was not captured in the frame? Any c&c welcomed... thank you $1 (3 of 27).webp

I like it just the way it is.

Thank you designer... after posting the pics of my daughter the other day, and getting good feedback, I was a little scared to post anything else lol. Like I should leave well enough alone... but I want to be the best and do the best with what I have, so even if its nitpicking, I will gladly take it... I have already learned so much here. When I get ready to take a photo, I literally run through a check list in my head. Get at the model's level, portrait orientation, loosen them up a little, use your gray card...lol. Thank you.

$1 (1 of 1)-18.webp no smile here, but is the framing better?

She's over to one side for no obvious reason.
Pretty, but slightly fake, smile.

Just so I understand... should I have had her facing the camera directly so her eyes are on (near) the red grid lines? Thank you

No, her posture looks lovely.
It's just that she is squeezed over to one side - and it looks squeezed.
But it is a good idea, unless there is an artistic reason, to have the important things (her eyes) close to an important and powerful place - the thirds.

I was reading and watching a course from lynda.com on portraits...and I forget what it's called (or what they called it) but the light reflection in her eyes...be it from flash or sun or whatever lightsource...in yours it is almost dead center in the pupil....the course said it's best to have it just above or off to the side above the pupil. It kinda stood out to me and made me think of the lesson.

i don't know if that holds true so maybe someone can chime in...but its what I read anyway and like I said...I wasn't looking for it...it just stuck out to me when I viewed your image.

And there is barely enough catch light either... Thanks Ernicus

not bad.. just too tightly framed! Open it up a bit.. and you are good! (quickie edit)

Thanks.. but I actually really screwed up the background... it is ugly! That is what happens when I don't take my time... :)
