Where do the different colours come from ... ?
The red of the clouds is a reflection of the sunlight at dawn, still behind the horizon. The orange on some of the rocks, the bridge and some of the concrete structures comes from the electric lamps that obviously are in the warm tone range. The interesting part is the blue. It's actually grey, which is a lighter shade of black. Black itself is a very dark blue and since the sensor's RGB color model does not have a black channel, it has to use a combination of red, green and blue, which in some cases renders a light gray as blue ( I have a shot taken in daylight of the granite wall below Yosemite's North Dome and that whole wall came out in blue). It can be corrected during processing, but for this image I kept the blue because it gives the image an artistic touch.
