Powershot g9 Part

I've just replaced the lens assembly on my powershot G9, which worked great. When I was reassembling it, a small ribbon wire running from the plate on the back of the LCD screen snapped.

In all the years I've been working with electronics, I've never had a ribbon cable snap, like this.

I was wondering if anyone knows what the part is? It's a metal plate that sits behind the LCD screen that the screen attaches to. It has the number 071214hp printed on it, but nothing else. It's not included with the LCD screen, itself.

Anyone know?
