recommend new music to me

DUB STEP.

I'll find some links and hook you up. Basically breaks/garage with some serious low frequency's involved.

I was gonna recommend bloc party as well.

To be honest I was gonna make a very similar thread. Can't wait till I get the interweb linked at my place so that I can begin the download mania.

Adam Freeland is great too, or if you can find any mix by Freestylers, which if you do, please post link.

These two play the coolest and most eclectic breaks sets.

I would like to recommend Athlete (- Tourist), they are still reletively unknown (at least where I live), but you got to act fast if you still wanna hear them while they are obscure, cause they're getting more and more populair withe the hour almost.

Saybia, reletively famous. just some of the best music I've ever ever heard

Also Carbon Leaf (- Indian Summer) is very good, they've preformed some time back on the dr Phill show, real good stuff.

ehm, oh, and Jem (-Finally Woken), she's a dutch singer and very talented, nice beats, nice voice

one more, a begium singer, Novastar (- Another lonely soul)

got some more, but that would make for a real long post..

Denekamp...have you heard of Shannon Lyon? He lives in Holland and tours around there quite a bit. Brilliant alt-country stuff. Vonnagy, if you're into alt-country, Shannon Lyon is phenomenal, so is Whiskeytown (ryan adams), Wilco, Son Volt, Jay Farrar, etc...

cheers everyone for your responses, thanks &Denekamp for the holland/belgium selections.

Son Volt, now thats a blast from the past. I saw them in concert about 8 years ago and I couldn't for the life of me remember their name of them until now (they opened for wilco). I never really liked country music until i heard them. Now that i remember their name, i can get their music, thanks treehugger  will check out shannon lyon as well.

Sigur Ros . <- amazing band from iceland. Definately won't be distracted by the lyrics.
just downloaded a couple of tunes, they sound a bit more shoegazer than downbeat, but i like them.

i downloaded a song but i think it was the wrong band as it sounded quite cheerful. Where do you tap into new dutch/belgium bands online? I really liked K's Choice when they were popular quite a few years ago

I would reccomend some music to you, but seeing you already know what kind of 'music mood' i'm in right now, i thought it best i didn't

No one's mentioned http://www.theservant.co.uk/ (The Servant) yet. London band, not particularly well known but their music is incredible. Kind of alternative/electronica to give you an idea.

Best song has to be Cells. Check 'em out. You can download their tracks fairly easily too - but if you have trouble, drop me an email, I'll send 'em your way.

I can't rave about this band enough!
