The recycled roadrunner sculpture is located in a rest area off Interstate 10 just outside of Las Cruces, New Mexico. This massive sculpture measures 40 feet across and 20 feet high. It is made out of multimedia recycled elements like Volkswagen headlights, used sneakers, golf clubs, a trophy, old plastic toys, metal from the City of Las Cruces’ recycling center, and things gathered from local thrift stores.

Here are some images from my visit:

I certainly come across some crazy stuff during my travels!

Thanks for looking...

There's a "Tree of lost souls" in NAL, that has been growing yearly as people passing by fling their old shoes up into the tree, but it doesn't come close to this!! Way cool sculpture.

[QUOTE="gnagel,

wow awesome photos/ wow!

It's a shame they didn't get that old point-and-shoot's lens cover retracted before bolting it in place.

Ah, there's my spatula! Ha!

Nice set. If someone doesn't find that sculpture interesting they're a zombie.

That is way cool! I could spend the whole day checking out the pieces it's made from. And I like how it's mounted on that pedestal.

Nice shots of it. Thanks for sharing.
