What about a somewhat larger aperture to isolate the subject ?

Very nicely seen and caught.
Since you probably can't catch him again, I imagine, this would be an easy edit because all the edges are sharp.
Separate the foreground onto a different layer, then darken the background and defocus it a tiny bit.
That will make him very distinct from the background and really improve this image I think.

I'm glad you caught that. The poster refers to a current thirteen part television series about people who have been displaced or otherwise victimized by the war in Colombia. My recycler could well be one of them.
