Red Breasted Merganser Juvenile?

Looks nothing like what I've seen on Google. Definitely not fully grown. It was playing with what looks to be a pod from the lily pads. When it spotted me it grabbed the pod and took off. It's mine! Lol. Didn't see any adults around.

Got a picture of a male red breasted merganser this spring. Know they migrate through here, and seen a few. Supposedly nest here too, but have never seen proof of it.

That first one is interesting. The colour is off for a red-breasted and the bill is also wrong. Also check out the yellow ring around the red eye, red-breasted don't have that.

You guys could be right. Have plenty of those here. But a Google search didn't show anything like this. Hence the confusion. Think a wing is shadowing some color on the body in this shot. Look closely. Several other shots (that I missed focus on) show the colors. Had to go back and look.
